TOM SMITH: SOLO AND ONE-MAN-BAND
Acoustic, Electric, Singer/Songwriter or One-Man-Band
This is a one-man show with both a solo acoustic set and a one-man-band set available. Lots of 70s guitar rock vibe! Basically Tom can sound like an acoustic singer-songwriter or like a full band by using a loop pedal - but he can fit everything on a 5X7 stage and dial in a suitable volume for any setting.Â
The loop pedal allows him to layer percussion, guitar, stand-up electric bass, vocals and sometimes a blues harp. Tom can do 3 sets (up to 4 hours) of classic rock covers and quite a few originals.

PRESS RELEASE
Subtle Fluidity
~~High praise from a long-time music and music video producer. ~~

"...articulating one melodic idea after the next on the guitar with a subtle fluidity that mimics singing and speaks to a well-developed sense of jam-band improvisation. "
"These things start out as one little riff and then become these dense huge ensemble-like things. Pretty incredible stuff..."
"...leads into the loop with a "live" intro and then continues on with the full track supporting...lead guitar playing and singing. It has more substance and depth than a solo acoustic version of the same song, in my humble opinion."

FULL BIO
~~Here's the deal~~
Well it finally happened. Tom has replaced all his musical cohorts with a handy loop pedal. Now he jams with his own damn self!

Tom Smith, a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, has been singing and playing guitar and bass on stages and in studios all across the USA for decades. A long-time Knoxville, Tennessee resident, Tom originally hails from New York and did his "growing up" in Brooklyn. He is an unapologetic pizza snob.

He most recently used the pandemic lockdown era to polish his loop pedal skills and hone his solo acoustic singer/songwriter act. His solo one-man-band act, Lunchtime Tom, got busy immediately following the more locked-down part of the pandemic and continues to accept local bookings. He has also been known to play stand-up bass for local Knoxville Manouche big band Swingbooty and others.

In the pre-pandemic times (remember those?), Tom and his wife Susan graced various Knoxville-area stages as Electric Healing and The Merry Jaynz. All the while, Tom was writing and recording new and old original music in his home studio. This resulted in four CD releases as The Merry Jaynz. Said writing and recording continues, with a Lunchtime Tom CD currently in the works.
Prior to all this, Tom performed and recorded solo and in bands in cities including New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Cincinnati, Asheville (Ohio), and around the Bay Area.
Tom says, "Gimme gigs!"
